Time Capsule Amber Light Blinking
My Time Capsule's amber light keeps blinking even after unplugging and restarting. There is wifi connection but TC icon is not found in AirPort Utility. TC icon does show up in Find Window under Shared.
Did you restart the whole network? That is a more useful test than simply restarting the TC.
Shut down everything in whatever order you like..
Restart strictly in order of connection.
1 Modem.. wait 2min
2 TC.. wait 2min
3 computer.. etc
If the icon does not show in airport utility now.. you need to reset the TC to factory and redo the configuration.
But tell us some more.. what computer and OS versions are you using?
What is the make and model of the modem router?
Who is your ISP?
What model is the TC? How old is it?
Did you try using iphone or iPad with iOS version airport utility? It works a lot better than Mac version.
Make sure IPv6 in the computer is set to link-local only.. This is essential for finding the TC in the network.
The exception is if your ISP is actually using a fully IPv6 setup and your TC is working as main router.
