OS X High Sierra Bootcamp not working

Trying to use BootCamp to install Win7 ISO on its own partition.

I researched a variety of different approaches from these forums...so far, all have failed. Most solutions I have found do not pertain to High Sierra.

Help pls 🙂

My superdrive can't boot, I have an external cd/dvd reader writer. I've verified my external drive can boot. I have also verified my Win7 sp1 ISO is good and usable. My Bootcamp info.plst has not been modified. I found info about modifying the Info.plist, but it was for a previous OS X. Also found in the same "info" steps to disable SIP which did not sound like it was such a good idea.

YAY!! Whew!!

it worked out but it was quite involved and not a bit easy. Since the original document was published Jan 2015 a lot of water has passed under the bridge(s).

The software he referenced has changed, of course.

VMware Fusion free version is now cripple ware and requires and upgrade ($20).

Paragon VMDK mounter is free on Trial.

Winclone requires a purchase ($20).

You MUST disable SIP before starting and past a BIG note on your screen to reenable when done!!

All in all it took me about 3 hours. After several days of frustration trying the traditional BootCampAssistant route I was able to get this done thanks to you help. KUDOs to you
