When playing free Scrabble for iPad, I get an ad saying “please rotate device.” When I rotate ipad, nothing happens and I can’t get back to my game to play. I have deleted game and downloaded again but that doesn’t help. The same screen appears again.can anyone help?

It appears that, when you're playing a certain game, you're instructed to rotate your iPad. The issue is, the screen of your iPad doesn't move and the game stops responding. I'm happy to help.
If the screen doesn‘t rotate on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -- Make sure that Portrait Orientation Lock is turned off. Test the issue if the lock was on.
If an app unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open -- If Portrait Orientation Lock was already off, follow the steps in this article.

Probably it wasn't well developped.

Deleting and downloading the app again has helped me before a couple times with buggy issues. The scrabble stats you have wont be lost. Its worth a shot in the dark, can't hurt.
