Three macbooks, same problem - beachball

The company I work for will only provide employees with MacBook laptops. I started with a MacBook Air. Within a couple months of using the laptop, I would constantly get beachballs, seemingly every click. I chalked it up to low specs and upgraded to a Late 2015 MacBook Pro. A couple months into that computer I came about the same problem...beachballs on every click. I swapped that computer out for a new issue MacBook Pro...only to get to the same problem.

The specs on this device are very comparable to my personal dell computer, which has never stalled out to this magnitude, especially on a daily basis. On the MacBook Pro I'm typically using 60% of the available 16GB RAM. The CPU load spikes all the time on actions that seem lightweight and benign (like launching the calculator), but for the most part is 85% idle. The beach balls are un-predictable and it's hard to replicate on demand when showing someone. At times the computer runs like a dream, but quickly followed by extreme sluggishness.

My tech team always says "lets get you a new laptop"...but at this point I'm not convinced swapping the computer yet again will solve the problem. I'm clearly the common denominator and cannot determine why for the life of me.

Aside from corporate loaded software, I've only installed a text editor, spotify, adobe acrobat, and a trading platform onto the computer. I rarely keep any of the aforementioned apps running throughout the day, so when my Mac hangs, these programs aren't running.

1. EtreCheck reports performance as excellent.

Sometimes protection software like Mcafee may have an impact.

But in a corporate environment you have to go with what is installed by IT department.

2. Try starting up in Safe Mode.

Start up in Safe Mode. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Once in SafeMode, click the “Restart” button at the bottom.
