Can 2 people connect to 1 HomePod?
I've heard differing answers but would like to know a definitive. 2 people with different iTunes accounts are living in the same house. Can they BOTH connect to a single HomePod?

Yes. But since both respond to the one command that isn't going to work well. The alternative is to have one unit and reset it every time you want to switch from one user's content to the other's.

The device can be used by anyone present in the home, since it doesn't detect who is speaking, but it can only connect to a single Apple ID to access purchase history, or iCloud Music Library, take personal requests, etc.

Allow me to be definitive. We, the 2 home owners and occupiers, both have iTunes accounts/Apple IDs. Different names etc.
So if we both wanted to play the music on our iPhones, we couldn't. Because the HomePod can only be accessed by the Apple ID of the registered owner?

One of you can have your iTunes music account associated with the HomePod and the other can still play their music/playlists from their iPad/iPhone to the HomePod via airplay
