I am not able to open the Facebook messenger in my iwatch

If you have not yet done so, then it may help to:

Update your iPhone and Apple Watch to the latest compatible software versions, starting with your iPhone:

• Update the iOS on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
• Update your Apple Watch - Apple Support

Update Messenger to the latest version:

• Messenger on the App Store

Check that you are following all of the instructions here:

• Use apps on your Apple Watch - Apple Support
• If an app unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open - Apple Support
• If you can’t download or update apps, or if apps get stuck - Apple Support
  • These tips are also helpful for Apple Watch.

Otherwise, for assistance with issues concerning Messenger (a third-party app), I suggest that you consult the developer's support resources and/or contact the developer for assistance.

I have done all of these suggestions and still can’t open the messenger app!

Every other app works just fine on my new Apple Watch 3, and when a message comes in, I get the notification and I can reply, but I can’t open the actual app itself.

got it working had same problem

1 go to facebook app open messenger

2 go to messenger make sure all of your messages have been viewed

3 Close Messenger by double tapping Home or swiping up the Home Gesture Bar and closing the Messenger App Preview (swipe it up, off the screen) also close facebook

4 go back to facebook app open messenger

5 Tap your avatar (profile picture in left top corner) and select Apple Watch

6 Tap on the Default Replies starting at the top going to the last one (bottom) just the word (exactly the way they are written) not the number they represent each line (6)

3 On my way.

4 OK

5 Sure!

6 No problem!

7 Next, tap on the upper-left <Me button to save your new default reply

8 Close Messenger by double tapping Home or swiping up the Home Gesture Bar and closing the Messenger App Preview (swipe it up, off the screen)

9 power off iwatch comple shutdown

10 power off iphone complet shut off

12 wait 10 minutes

13 power on iphone let it start

14 power on iwatch let it start

15 in iwatch open messenger & hope it works it did for me

I think the problem is that in messenger app iwatch default replies are not the same as the one in messenger that open on your iwatch messenger (default) reply
