I use the GMail app on my iPad. Since the last update to the iOS, every time I click an email link I get a pop up asking if I want to open it with Chrome or Safari. I pick Safari and move the slider to indicate I don’t want to be asked again. Next time I click a link, it asks again. How do I kill this beast?
Thanks, but everything I found addressed issues where Chrome was already installed. The problem I'm having seems to be aggressive marketing by Google to get me to install Chrome.
There was one posting suggesting clearing Cookies. I'm going to give that a shot. But I think I'll be as successful as Brady on the last play of the Super Bowl.
Go into the actual gmail application. Do not go through the Apple settings. Pretend like you are going into it to check your email. There is a settting section in the app itself. I had the same problem with my iPhone gmail app.
Thank you, good sir. Problem solved. Now if we could only keep Google from changing the setting with another update!
I was able to disable in the Gmail app itself. It seems to be working. Go to settings --> Google App Settings --> Change the "Ask me which app to use every time" setting.
I went to Setting, Gmail. There are three options, Siri and Search, Notifications, and Background Refresh.
I did did not see a Google App Settings.
Where did I go wrong?
