Check the App Store and iTunes Store to see if there are any updates for apps/purchases. A request for an old Apple ID password is often caused by updates to apps/purchases that were made when using the old ID. One option is to delete the apps/purchases made by the old ID and download them using the new ID if desired.

After sharing an Apple ID with my wife for many years I created a new one after getting my X . Now my iPad and my phone constantly ask for my old IDs password, about twenty times in a row right after I wake up the device. if I go to settings my device is signed in to my new account and I can make purchases. Is this what you are experiencing? Experts! What do I do?
