Can’t share reminder list

I have tried to share a reminder list with my husband. We both have iCloud accounts and are using an 8 plus with up to date OS. I have added him correctly; however, he shows as pending, but isn’t receiving the email invite to allow him access to the list. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Thanks
