Mixed Up Picture

Just downloaded a family members pictures onto my photos on my Mac, expecting to select all 4,000 images from last import and put into folder. However, the application quit mid download and now there are only 1,000 in the last import and can't select the other 3,000 to put in the folder - except by hand. How do I select all photos from one phone to put into folder???

Solution for exporting photos following the import order I couldn't reply to any older thread about this topic so this was the only way. Many people were having problem exporting photos to a different folder keeping the same order they have in the photos app. These are the steps that you should try: Select your photos in the import tab or wherever you have them. You can press cmd + A to select every photo, or click manually on each one. With your photos selected, on the upper toolbar go to File->Export->Export Unmodified Original For X Items. Where X is the number of photos you currently have selected. Now in the window that pops up, under the File Naming section there is File Name: followed by a dropdown menu. Select Album Name With Number in the dropdown menu. You can leave the other options as they are. Click on Export, select your folder and then click on Export Originals. And there you go, your photos should now be exported in the correct order! Note: this method doesn't let you choose between different photo/video formats and different qualities. It keeps the same format and quality as they are on your phone.

Imported photos to ip[hone but lost the folder names I am trying to import photos from my iMac to my iPhone. I selected 5 folders from Mac Photos and the pictures imported successfully to my iPhone. But all the folder designations disappeared so, while I have the photos, they aren't in folders and are all mixed together. How can I import the photos and retain the folder names?

what version do you have? Any version with a last import album is going to require that you find the photos - a smart album based on camera might to it or some other smart album - if you were up to date with High Sierra 10.13.3 then it would be easy as all imports are always available in the Imports album with the latest one at the bottom.
