I have just installed Time Capsule and my first attempt to back up my MacBook resulted
in a backup size of 370GB. I cancelled
the backup and spent time deleting old and unused files and applications and excluding
those items that I don’t need to backup which has resulted in a reduction of estimated
backup size to about 50GB. But now, a Time Machine backup shows a size of 470GB
which seems ridiculous as I have manually transferred all my photos and music off
the Mac and onto an external HD. Does
anyone know what could be using such a large amount of storage and how do I get
Time Machine to only backup the data on the Mac?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS High Sierra (10.13.2)
