iMessage keeps crashing

I go on to my iMessages and stays on the last person I sent a message too. it says I’ve got 16 more messages from other people so I press it and it just crashes i don’t know what to do some one help!? 😩

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 11.2.5

Hi Mcpp123,

Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it seems like the Messages app on your iPhone is crashing when you try to open text messages. There are a couple things you can try that may be able to help. If you restart the iPhone does the Messages app still crash? You could also try to force quit the Messages app and launch it again. Make sure to backup your data to keep it safe. Since you are not able to uninstall and reinstall the Messages app, reinstalling iOS may help. I would recommend you read these articles and use them to help troubleshoot the issue.
