Does anyone know how to edit the little logo that shows on the top RIGHT CORNER of Mail messages (sent or received) in the preview pane?? See the little circle picture at the RIGHT?

Edit it from your Contacts.app
From the appropriate contact— you hover your mouse over the avatar >edit
Go to the Contact card for your son and change the picture there.
FWIW, my mistake. You can in fact change the pictures for anyone in Contacts as leroy said. Select a contact, click on its icon or the picture tab.
Because it's active you can't edit it. It's hard coded into Mail.
It is a picture of my son, he put it there years ago when he was about 14. I’m pretty sure it is editable somehow. I see company logos there all the time....?
