ios 11 music app no longer has skip song ability, only skip 30 seconds forward or backward

ios 11 music app no longer has skip song ability, only skip 30 seconds forward or backward

there used to be arrows that would allow you to skip the song, going to the next or previous song. now i only have the option to skip 30 seconds forward or backward within the playing song. what am i missing to get the ability to skip songs entirely?

these are songs synced from itunes

iPhone X, iOS 11.2.6

thanks, that doesn't work. when i do that, the arrows are there until you press play,then reverts to 30 second skip option
