No blue dot for unread incoming mail

Hi all!, It looks like this problem is going back to 2011 and still no definitive solution on how to fix this.

I also have numerous account that function fine (unread mail is bold with a blue dot), but for some unknown reason my primary email address displays new mail as unbold with no blue dot. It's really a problem. I am missing import email bc of it.

Please help!

I am on a

MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017)

2.9 GHz Intel Core i7

running 10.13.2 (17C205)

Mail version Version 11.2 (3445.5.20)

Hi Leroy,

Yes, I tried that and retried it again after your reply. No change. Still no indication that new messages have come in (no boldness in list, no blue dot next to new message, no no red dot in my dock mail icon).

It seems like this issue it not so rare, I've read a bunch of posts about this, but no one posted a working solution unfortunately.

Did you try rebuilding the inbox of the problem account.

Mail>Mailbox>Rebuild
