Why are Muslin holidays on my calendar? I am not a Muslin and prefer now to have them on my calendar. How can I remove them?

Why are Muslim holidays suddenly on my calendar and how can I remove them?

Still no good. There should be a simple solution to customize your US Holidays for your life but, this is another way that Apple is forcing you to do things the Apple way. In this case Apple says, "Modify your definition of US Holidays to include Islamic Holidays."

I’ll just use Google calendar instead. Apple should allow its users (who bought and own Apple products, BTW) to edit the calendar anyway we want! This is pure PC adding everyone’s so called holidays. Change your policy Apple!

Did you bother reading any of this thread? Apple didn't invent the subscription calendar standard. And, the standard doesn't allow editing. But, there are thousands of calendars available. I'm sure there's one that would satisfy your particular prejudices.

Since when did PREFERENCES become PREJUDICES. You assume an awful lot.

I don't think I'm assuming much at all when someone gets their knickers in a twist over holidays from religions different from theirs and uses loaded terms like "PC" and "so called holidays".

By the way, they're not "so called" holidays. They're actual holidays.

This is completely ridiculous! Apple should stick to the federal US holidays for its "U.S. Holidays" calendar and if they do want to add religious holidays then at least let us choose which ones we want to see. Options to add holidays in calendar should look like this:

U.S. Holidays (Federal Holidays)

Christian Holidays

Catholic Holidays

Jewish Holidays

Muslim Holidays

and so on and so on....

Each religions should be available to add to the calendar if the user chooses to...

Well, apparently you did.

I have a very simple solution to holidays on my calendar that I don't celebrate, like Good Friday and Easter. I ignore them. The same way I ignore them on the wall calendar in my kitchen. It's even less effort than unchecking the subscription calendar.

If I've never heard of them before, as with Holi, I look them up and take the opportunity to learn more about the world in which I live.

Your logic doesn't add up. Why does Apple put this holiday on "Calendar - US Holidays". The United States government is the official representative for the United States and declares national holidays, you don't have to observe them, but they are officially declared. Given your logic you would have to list every holiday in the world on the US Holidays calendar, however, someone at Apple decided Eld al-Adha should be added which is about the least official approach to a decision process.

Actually, that's not true. Congress does not have the authority to create holidays that apply to the entire country. They only have the authority to create holidays for Federal Employees.

May every year find you in good health. Eid Mubarak!

I also didn’t want the Muslim events in my calendar because I am Christian. I found out how to get them off of the calendar as follows.

Go yo your calander app and open it. At the bottom it should give three choices, “today calendar and inbox” , choose calendar. Scroll down to other and choose @US Holidays subscribed” and uncheck it. There may be a “Holiday in United States” above this one somewhere but leave that one checked so the normal Labor Day and other normal holidays will stay in your calendar.

This took care of my calendar and now. I more Muslim holidays come up anymore.

Hope this helps.

PS... I am not trying to condemn Muslims in any way, it’s just that I don’t practice Muslim religion and therefore do not want these holidays in my calendar.

Why are Muslin holidays on my calendar? I am not a Muslin and prefer now to have them on my calendar. How can I remove them?
