Why are Muslin holidays on my calendar? I am not a Muslin and prefer now to have them on my calendar. How can I remove them?

What Absolute Nonsense!

Open the Calendar app. Tap Calendars. Uncheck US Holidays.

Then go to icalshare.com (or another of the many sources of subscription calendars) from Safari on the phone and subscribe to the calendar that best meets your prejudices from the hundreds of FREE holiday calendars that are available. As already explained in the thread you probably didn't read, subscription calendars can only be changed by the provider of the calendar; they can't be edited by the subscriber, any more than you can edit a magazine you subscribe to. But no one is required to use a subscription calendar that makes them uncomfortable.

Because there are over 3 million Muslims living in the U.S. who are citizens of this nation. Their holidays are just as important to them as yours are to you. Funny didn't complain about the Hindu and Jewish holidays.

In case you've forgotten, except for Native Americans, everyone in this country is either a recent immigrant, or descendent of one. There are over 80 religions practiced in New York alone. There is no one who can make any claim this is a one religion country.

Apple created the default calendar. Since you are not the author, you cannot edit it. However, you can very easily turn it off in Settings. Then subscribe to any of thousands of other calendars you do like. Or, create your own.

Edit: Now my response looks strange as the post of the person I was writing this to had been removed while I was composing.

The United States government is the official representative for the United States and declares national holidays, you don't have to observe them, but they are officially declared.

Actually, that's not true. Congress does not have the authority to create holidays that apply to the entire country. They only have the authority to create holidays for Federal Employees.

May every year find you in good health. Eid Mubarak!

I also didn’t want the Muslim events in my calendar because I am Christian. I found out how to get them off of the calendar as follows.

Go yo your calander app and open it. At the bottom it should give three choices, “today calendar and inbox” , choose calendar. Scroll down to other and choose @US Holidays subscribed” and uncheck it. There may be a “Holiday in United States” above this one somewhere but leave that one checked so the normal Labor Day and other normal holidays will stay in your calendar.

This took care of my calendar and now. I more Muslim holidays come up anymore.

Hope this helps.

PS... I am not trying to condemn Muslims in any way, it’s just that I don’t practice Muslim religion and therefore do not want these holidays in my calendar.
