Keys repeating itself on MacBook Pro

I use a 15" MacBook Pro (2016) with a Retina Display, TouchBar, and the new thin keyboard.

Until a few weeks ago, I had no problems. Since the last 6 weeks or so, every time I type on the keyboard, letters tend to repeat themselves very often (e.g. leetters; tthe; tthin; applee).

I tried slowing down, and also turning off the 'Key Repeat' function in Settings, but it does not seem to make any difference, the keys still repeat themselves, in spite of my typing normally.

Does anyone know the reason for this? Is this a software problem? It started only after a Mac OS software update a few weeks ago.
