HI Kim,
"Pages" exist in Numbers only when you are printing or preparing to print the document.
When you press command-P or choose File > Print, Numbers opens the Print Setup screen, which displays how the selected sheet will appear on the printed page(s) and provides editing access to the page header and footer:
The header and footer outlines appear when the pointer is on the page.
Move the pointer into the space where you want the page number to appear on each page, click to place the insertion point in the box, enter any text you want repeated on each page, then go Insert (menu) > Page Number.
When finished, click Done to exit print setup and continue working with the document or Print to proceed to the Print dialogue and from there to printing the document.
