Hello- I have a first generation iPad I recently recharged and activated with my iCloud account. How can I download the photos from it either to my Mac or upload to iCloud? Thanks

Have you connected it with a USB cable to your Mac, and then launched Image Capture? This should show you all pictures that you can then offload into a Mac designated folder.
