Organizing Contact Info

Why can't we just drag contact details around to reorder them, as one does with so many thing?

Having to erase and then reenter information to float other information to the top of a (sub) list (such as with addresses or phone numbers) seems very clumsy.

reordering contacts For some contacts I want to keep old addresses. New addresses are added at the end. When typing in a contacts name only a small number of addresses are shown starting from the top of the list which would be the least current address (given as stated above that new addresses are appended not prepended). Is there a way to reorder the list (w/o) deleting and retyping so at least the most current is at the top? It would make more sense to add new addresses at the top and not the bottom of the list.

Preference not an option in contact app I want to sort the names of my contacts by first names but there is no Preference option in my contact app in which to do so. The only info the side bar gives me is: How else can I do it please?
