Narrator on iPad skips paragraphs while in kindle app

We have an iPad running the latest version of IOS (11.2) and since the latest update of the Kindle app the narrator now skips paragraphs. It will read to the end of the selected page, but then it will skip the first paragraph of the next page. Sometimes it will skip more than one paragraph and drop in half way through the next paragraph. Help me please obi wan Kenobi. You're my only hope!
