Somehow this search manager has highjacked my Google Chrome browser. I can open Google Chrome to its home page but any other new pages are opened with this search manager and Yahoo. How do I get rid of it? Most returns on a google search talk about downloading an app to remove it and viruses which I know I'm not supposed to do with my macOS.

You might want to check for malware too. Download Malwarebytes it's free, run it to make sure you have no malware because your browser was being hijacked.
I found I could delete anysearch malware under Safari>prefrences>extentions found the name, highlighted, drug to trash, emptied trash, then restarted. I also have McAfee so ran a full computer scan with another restart after
Look for extensions in the Chrome preferences that you didn't install and delete them.
