Am I missing something?
I have searched for a "new tab" button to add to the osx toolbar, but cannot find. Am I totally crazy? Is there a button for this? Should there be? Can one be created? 🙂
It would help my life a little.

open your Finder, on the Mac menu bar choose View, click on View. Do you see show tab bar?
No such thing. You can suggest it.
I should ask, by Toolbar do you mean the Menu Bar or the Finder Toolbar?
If you mean the Finder press the plus sign on the far right near the top.
The Finder, but I cannot see a + sign.
A couple things to try.
1. Relaunch the Finder by holding down the "Option" key, right/control click the Finder icon in the Dock and select Relaunch.
2. Restart
