I was robbed and new phone was stolen

I was robbed and my new iPhone 8 plus was stolen. (Some kid did a snatch and grab) I have the imei, serial number and receipt. How can I track the phone down if it hasn’t been activated & doesn’t have a sim? I made a police report but nothing has turned up yet.

There is no way for you to track it. It cannot be done with any of the information that you have. The only way to track the phone is if it was activated, and you had activated Find My iPhone. All you can do is what you have done, and that is report it to the police.
