Is there any way in High Sierra´s Finder to permanently set the columnwidth in listview?

Try holding down the option key when resizing a column.

Column size in macOS finder Ever since the update to High Sierra, the column view size is screwed up. Every time I open a new window it defaults the column to the size of the finder window. I am forced to to change it EVERY time! Ugh. This should not default to the size of a window. What a waste of a time! Example... every time I open dropbox, I get a new window. The columns are the size of the window. If I download a folder the columns are wider than the window! This is a stupid bug that really needs to be fixed! How do I set permanent, individual column widths in Finder In High Sierra, pressing the Option key while setting column width makes all of the columns the same width. How do I set permanent widths of different size for each column, much as anyone would in Excel?
