My computer screen won’t turn on

You do not give much information, what computer, laptop, desktop ?

Computer starts, but screen does not light up??

Computer does not boot???

I am experiencing this same issue with my older desktop computer. I can hear the sound it makes when the computer is turning on (a chime). If I hold the on/off button again, I can hear the computer shut down. We have checked the brightness level using our keyboard, checked all cords, and everything else I could think to check. My husband had used the computer not 10 minutes before it went black, came back to it, and nada. Any suggestions???

I have a Macbook I can use while we are trying to fix the issue.
