That’s extremely odd - I thought it was impossible to have an administratorless Mac. Regardless, here’s how to get an administrator account back onto your Mac (or make your account admin):
1. Restart your Mac while holding Command-S. (If FileVault is enabled, log in to continue)
2. Rapidly moving white text on a black screen should appear. When the text stops moving, execute fsck -fy
3. Wait for your Mac to say “The volume Macintosh HD appears to be ok.”
4. Execute mount -uw /
5. Execute rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
6. Execute reboot
7. Your Mac should restart to Setup Assistant. Use it to create a new administrator account for your Mac.
To make your original account administrator and delete the extra account you made, log out and log in as your normal account. Open System Preferences, then choose Users and Groups. Unlock using administrator credentials, then select your account and check the box next to “Allow user to administer this computer”. Then, select the other account and delete it. Restart your Mac for changes to take effect.
Hope this helps!
