I Just got a used Macbook Pro 2006 A1211
it has a 120HD + 3GB of RAM (1GB + 2GB) DDR2 667Mhz.
My question is, to put a new HD in it, does it has to be compatible with the MacBook? If so which HD should I buy? And does it support 4GB of RAM? Any ddr2 667mhz will do?

2. One which is 2.5 inches and connects using Serial ATA. Using one which is faster than 5400 RPM may cause the computer to overheat.
3. Yes, but it'll only use 3.3GB of that.
4. Use modules which are advertised as being compatible with that model.

I would save your money. The price of a new hard drive may be more than what that computer is worth. It has the maximum RAM already. The HDD interface is SATA I 1.5Gb/s. If you were to put in a new HDD you would need one compatible with SATA I 3.0Gb/s and below. You can install up to Snow Leopard and Lion.
