Hey there!
No, not necessarily. In iOS there is a way to clear the memory (RAM), without having to reset your iPhone (and without all the struggle trying to remember what apps you had on it)
Here's how to do it:
- Start by unlocking your iPhone (the display is lit, and either the home screen or an app can be showing, but not the lock screen).
- Hold down the power button until the "slide to power off" option appears.
- Next, release the power button, and then hold down the home button for roughly five seconds.
And just like that - poof - your iPhones RAM has been reset.
It may seem like the fix is too quick to make a big difference in your device's operation, but upon inspection, you'll notice signs that your iPhone is faster. As the home screen reloads, watch the menu bar refresh. This doesn't typically happen when you tap the home button, but it does when you reset or start up the device. Secondly, double-tap your home button to pull up the app switcher.
Other ways you can make your iPhone faster:
- Delete unused apps and files,
- Turn off background app refresh,
- Reduce transparency and motion (in settings).
I hope all this helps
