Changing Setting for Siri Driving Directions

How can I change a setting I once used for Siri’s driving direction? Only that one time I asked to “avoid freeways or highways.” Now when I try to get ANY directions where I NEED to use freeways, Siri routes me on local roads.

Hi Jackie,

It sounds like you need some help configuring Maps to navigate the way you like. I rely on Maps to get me where I need to go too, and I'll help you configure this how you want.

Check out these steps that can help you configure this:

Avoid tolls and highways, and see traffic in your area

To avoid tolls and highways, go to Settings > Maps > Driving & Navigation. Then tap the sliders for Tolls and Highways.

Use Maps on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

That should make it so the next time you ask for directions, Siri will be sure to use the Highways if warranted.

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities.
