If you have a 3rd Gen (Rev A) or later Apple tv and a recent IOS device you can use peer to peer airplay. However, you would be unable to view purchased content

thank you. I appreciate the help. I have a brand new apple tv and iPad pro. I have downloaded media to the iPad and hoped to be able to cast to tv for easier viewing while traveling. Thank you again
