My Mac air 13 inch laptop will no longer read SD cards? The message in card can not be opened bacause he original item can not be found!

How often do you use your SD reader slot? These ports can wear down over time (Every port wears down over time.) If you use this port a lot, then it may have worn down enough to the point where it no longer works. If this is not the case, then try restarting your Mac, or make sure that the SD card has clean pins, and is not broken.
