Question: Antivirus and malware

I have seen this site https://www.antivirustop10.org/the-best-free-antivirus-online-2018-mac
and it has a recommendation, Total AV for Mac as the best tool for virus and malware etc detection and removal-
Is it true? Is this kind of software reliable??? 😕

MacBook Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3), 13" Retina display, early 2015.

No Anti-Virus software or so-called “cleaning” apps are needed or recommended for Mac OS. They can conflict with Mac's own built-in security. At best they will slow your Mac by using unnecessary resources and at worst will bork your entire system.

No. MacOS has built in security software and if you still have a particular issue usually a utility such as Malwarebytes is better to deal with it. Anti virus software can result in a Mac computer slowing and or problems in operating.
