Lost contact data after upgrade to High Sierra 10.13.3

After upgrade to High Sierra 10.13.3 my Contacts on this computer were automatically added to iCloud. I did not do anything to request or set this up. On iCloud, or on desktop, I now see only phone numbers. No addresses, no notes or additional information, no email addresses, no lists folders (such as business contacts, christmas card list etc). Occasionally lists an email address that says "(found in email)". How do I get my previously stored data back?

If you have Time Machine you can restore.

If you have access to your old macOS—from Contacts you can export, then import to your new macOS
