How do I get my microphone to work while screen recording?

I have tried to long press the screen recording button in crontrol centre, tried take it off and on, updated my phone, restarted my phone, it’s not giving me a pop up option to turn the microphone on when I long press. What is happening?

Hello eksugar,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding that when trying to record the screen on your iPhone, you're not getting the microphone option when firmly pressing the recording button. I'm happy to help.

I recommend reinstalling iOS with iTunes. This step can resolve possible software issues. When reinstalling iOS, iTunes will completely remove your current software and install a fresh version. While iTunes will try to do this without removing data, it's a good idea to make sure you have a recent backup before trying this step.

Hello Joseph,

First off I would like to thank you for your response, I have tried to put my phone into recovery mode and update it after I have backed it up. It still doesn’t work, wondering if this is some thing to do with 3D Touch as I have tried to turn it off, turn my phone off, turn my phone back on and turn 3D Touch back on.

Would my next step be to maybe do a factory reset on my phone?
