If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. On the screen with Options, please open Options and check the bottom 2 boxes before running. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.

My iMac was running normally up to last Friday March 2nd, 2018. Over the weekend I downloaded Malwarebytes and later detected that I cannot access my iCloud account at www.icloud.com. I therefore uninstalled Malwarebytes using the Uninstaller from the Malwarebytes Help menu.

I also logged out of iCloud in System Preferences and then back in. However I could not login to my iCloud account in System Preferences. I restarted my computer in Safe mode and successfully logged into iCloud in System Preferences. I could also login to www.icloud.com. I then restarted my computer in Normal mode and the iCloud setting in System Preferences was working normally However I cannot access www.icloud.com in Normal mode.

Odd fix, but I'm glad it worked. Reference Kaspersky and Trusteer, the 2 programs have caused problems for others. Their problem was solved when the 2 programs were uninstalled. Most long time posters recommend not using any antivirus programs unless you work with a lot of Windows files.

I would uninstall Kapersky. Its tends to interfere with the computer's operation while providing minimal to no benefit unless you work with Windows files. Also remove the Kapersky Safari extension which may be the problem with iCloud.com.

Kapersky Uninstall

I would get rid of Trusteer. It doesn’t work well under Mac OS.

Trusteer Rapport Uninstall

Mar 8, 2018 9:23 PM in response to Eric Root

Trusteer was installed more than 10 years ago whilst Kaspersky was installed on 1st September 2017. Since installation of these applications, my computer and iCloud have been running/working normally, so why the suggestion to now uninstall them? I cannot understand how a computer can functionally normally and then suddenly start experiencing problems with access to iCloud. Unless there is some other gremlin in my computer that doesn't appear in the EtreCheck report? I realise I can reinstall these applications if I should uninstall them, but I would like to understand a bit more about the issue before proceeding with your recommendation.

I ran a software application "App Cleaner" and this software highlighted 4 extensions/files (or whatever they are called) that relate to Malwarebytes. I had previously uninstalled Malwarebytes, but it obviously left these files on my computer. I deleted these files and rebooted my computer in normal mode. I then tried to login to www.icloud.com and had no issues logging in. Just to be sure, I rebooted and had no further issues in signing into my iCloud account.
