Vizio 4k P75-C - Apple TV 4K Issues

I just purchased a 4K Apple TV. My TV supports both HDR10 and Dolby Vision.

I'm having an Issue with it detecting either on my 4K settings.

My Vizio TV has a setting where I have to turn on that specific HDMI Port to detect the 4K setting.

I get to the setup where is asks me if I want to see if the Apple TV 4K can use Dolby Vision. I select Yes, and then the screen goes blank and my TV says it doesn't detect the Apple TV. It comes back and reverts back to the standard 4k setting (Non HDR or Dolby Vision)

I tried running setup again and when it asks me to start the test, I then turn on the HDMI 4K setting on the Vizio TV, thinking it would then pick it up. It does not. My TV will say "No Input Detected" I do also give it a good amount of time to find it. I then again turn off the HDR setting on my TV's input and it will again display the Apple TV on standard 4k settings.

I have tried HDMI Ports 1-3 on my TV, I have went into video display setting on the Apple TV and it still won't display the 4K setting of either HDR or Dolby Vision.

I also tried doing a full reset of the Apple TV, Turning on the HDR input on, connecting the Apple TV. I did then have hope as it displayed the Apple TV updating and my TV said it was Dolby Vision! But after the Apple TV Reset, it again wouldn't display. I once again had to turn off the 4K setting on the TV's HDMI port setting to get it to display the standard 4k.

Please help!! I'm at my wits end and I know my TV supports both formats. I have a Xbox one X perfectly working. All my HDMI cables also are up to date.

I had the same issue, turned out an audio extractor I use to route audio only to my sound system was the culprit. Be weary of switchers and cables purchased on Amazon, many claims of supporting DV are exaggerated. Have you tried plugging the ATV directly into the Vizio?

I had to buy the $30 belkin 48gps cable on Apple website before I got 60hz DV to work. I had high speed Amazon cables and Monoprice cables, but only Belkin worked. I have the Lg 65E7p and I do not believe your Vizio can do 60hz, only 30hz DV.

The Belkin was the only one that worked for me and I always buy premium cables. Many people in forums state the Amazon High speed is good enough but not for me. One thing I always thought was funny, we pay 3k to 10k for our beautiful OLED TVs or others but we penny pinch on cables. I'm not saying to buy $70 cables but if Apple states the Belkin works, and it does, just pay $30 and be done with it. The price for admission.

Suggesting what worked for me and what I have read in a lot of forums, the Belkin cable Apple recommends does work when a lot of other cables do not. I hear Blue Jean cables are great as well others. I just dont know from not trying them.

It took many attempts for me. I have a Vizio M series and used a Belkin Ultra High Speed Cable plugged into HDMI I (on your P Series I believe all inputs support DV?) input and enabled Full UHD Color. I was finally able to see Dolby Vision in Settings > Video and Audio as an option. Hope this helps, good luck.

I don't believe you needed to buy that cable, a high speed cable is not the same as a premium high speed cable or a category 3 cable (48 Gbps), it's not suprising that your high speed cable didn't work for DV but mine works perfectly well with premium (18Gbps) cables.

You might try using a different HDMI cable. You can use the Apple TV with a high speed cable but if you want to use DV at 60 Hz you will need a premium high speed cable

I agree. I tried the more expensive Belkin cable and it didn't change a thing. I feel like there are 4K signal incompatibilities between the AppleTV 4K and Vizio TVs. frustrating to say the least......Im so glad I bought and Applt TV 4k - not

Yes I have a cable that goes directly to my TV. The cable works fine with my Xbox One x with HDR so not sure what the issue is.

If you are happy to pay the extra, go ahead, but I'm not sure you should be suggesting it's necessary when it's not.

I appreciate that, but unless the cable is defective in some way, it matters not who makes them but rather what standard they are certified to (or meet).
