Question: Exposure to US Apple from Canada (follow-up question to recent post on switching from Cdn Apple ID to US Apple ID)

Hello,

My American audio engineer is wondering if, because I'm based in Canada, if my podcast will have limited visibility in the States. Even if my pod is pushed out to all stores, top podcasts and episodes are localized by country, so does this have an impact? If not, great. If yes, what can I do to mitigate it? I am actually not interested in any attention in Canada, I'm looking for an American audience for my American focused podcast. If it's simply a matter of me blasting my American contacts about the podcast, then I will do that.

Thanks.

It does not matter where you originate from - Each countries store placement is based 100% on how that show does for users in that country. And there is NO penalty for the podcaster coming from another country.

If you get a lot of people in the US subscribing to your show - you will move up the rankings and get better placement in search results.
