Photos only lets you import photos of the same day

When trying to import photos from my iPhone 5s to my MacBook Pro it only shows the photos of the day as importable, any older photo (2 days +) gets ignored by Photos App.

I've already downloaded all updates in both devices, restored my iPhone to factory defaults, restored my Mac from scratch (and from Time machine as well) and always get the same problem.

MacBook Pro Late 2011, Intel core I7, SSD 500gb, 16gb Ram running High Sierra MacOs 10.13.3

iPhone 5s running iOS 11.2.6

MacBook Pro (13-inch Late 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Most likely you have iCloud Photo Library enabled on the phone and not on the Mac - you can not import form an IOS device with ICPL enabled - it needs to be disabled on both the Mac and the IOS device or enabled on both so it syncs the changes between the devices
