iPhone 6s with iOS 11.2.6 which is up to date, but in Setting > General > Software Update has "1" RED DOT indicates there is an update available.
Once I click it, next screen tells me that my iOS software is up to date (11.2.6)
How do I get rid of this false alert?

You can check Settings > General > iPhone Storage > if you have iOS in there?
Restore as new and test.
It doesn't show "1" Red Dot when I restore it as new, but comes back after restore it from back up.

Connect your iPhone to your computer iTunes and do the update one more time from there.

I don't see iOS in iPhone Storage, and I don't use iCloud service either.
So what am I supposed to do next?
I have tried to back up my phone again, factory reset and restore it with the most recent back up, but still getting that false notice..
Did nothing, I even factory reset my phone and restored.

So it means your backup is corrupted.
Well it's in your backup so restoring will put it back.
Updated once again through iTunes manually, but still same.. 😟
Also iOS map isn't accurate anymore, it picks up the current location but doesn't get updated when I move.
