I think the Mid-2007 iMacs came with 10.4.10 (8R4031) and maxed out at 10.11.x.

How to download OS X El Capitan - Apple Support

[Note that OS X Lion 10.7 and subsequent versions of OS X are not capable of running Mac OS X apps originally written for the PowerPC processor as these operating systems do not support the “Rosetta” environment. To run PowerPC applications on this Mac, it will be necessary to use Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard or earlier.]

This is an EMC2133 is was running El Capitan. I did find it under my Purchases in the App Store but the darn thing won't download to my hard drive. I need to create a USB Boot Drive on my new Sierra iMac to allow me to boot the new hard drive on the old iMac. So stupid that App Store thinks it's smarter than I am.
How in the world do I get my El Cap software?

Swell, I get all the way to installing on the formatted new hard drive and OS X quits because it "can't be verified". It was damaged or corrupted! It came straight from the App Store to a new iMac and scripted in Terminal right to a USB. Everything went without a hitch and Apple sent me a corrupted file or ???

I've already tried Recovery at startup. It doesn't work on the EMC2133.
What junk are they sending me? Having to do a Terminal "sudo..." script to burn on a USB? Apple used to "User Friendly". Sure!
