To free up space on the IPad can a person transfer movies purchased from ITunes to a flash drive?

Can a person transfer saved movies from an Ipad bought from ITunes to free up more space? Flash drives such as the Kingston Bolt talk about transferring pictures and videos but do not address purchased movies. I get mixed answers from techies at Best Buy and Verizon stores. Some of my movies are on the Cloud but I like to have some on my IPad for the grandchildren to view while traveling.

Not directly from the iPad no, you will have to copy them to the drive via a computer's iTunes. And to play the films they will need to be copied back onto a device or a computer's iTunes or played from the store, films (and TV shows) have digital rights management on them which mean that they can only be played via the TV app, iTunes and Apple TV
