Safe to delete MacOS installer?

I am trying to reduce storage on my Macbook Air. I found in my Applications folder > Install macOS High Sierra - and the size is 5.21GB. i guess this is the installer app. Is it safe to delete this with the OS already running? Appreciate the help.
