Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
Imac 27" purchased 2014. Did a restart and boots up with apple logo clear to end of white line then stops. Let it set for 6 hours and then powered off and tried again. same results. software is up to date. Boot tone at beginning is the same as it always has been since purchased.

If you're running a Fusion drive, make sure it is working properly i.e. still being read as a single drive. Sadly it involves reformatting and initializing and therefor losing your data. The following link solved the issue. Please read it carefully.
