Can an iPod be upgraded to iPhone

My kid has an iPod 6gen, can I add/purchase cellular service so she can have it as a phone now?

iPod Touches are NOT cellular phones!

That iis why iPod Touches are a whole lot cheaper than an iPhone!

In addition, you need to use a cellular carrier SIM card in cell/smart phone.

iPod Touches have no SIM card tray to install a SIM card AND, also, no phone dialing features.

If your kid needs a phone/smart phone, you will need to purchase one with a carrier plan.

Good Luck to You!
