Greetings iansoftley,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities.

I understand that you have two Mac computers, but hers is getting email from your Gmail and you'd like it to stop.

I suggest deleting the Gmail account on her computer by going to Apple menu > System Preferences > Internet Accounts. Highlight the Gmail account and then click the -- button to remove.

Hi Sarah....thanks but I forgot to mention that the two iMacs are networked so turning off something or deleting something affects the other and vice versa....I've lots of stuff until I'm completely bamboozled and can't remember where I started.....any other ideas very welcome ..........thanks for taking the time.
