Drive Not Ejected Correctly.

After my iMacOS High Sierra goes to sleep, when I wake it up a notice tells me that one of my external drives has not been ejected correctly. How do I prevent this happening?

Disk Not Ejected Properly Multiple times after wake from sleep In Monterey, on my Mac mini, when waking from a sleep, the finder shows that my connected Seagate (or Western Digital--I've tried both) USB drive was not ejected properly. Depending on the length of sleep, the message will appear multiple times. Anyone else having this issue?

LaCie Drive not ejected properly I have a LaCie Mobile Drive 2TB attached to my MacBook Pro M1 via USB-C cable. I had a Macbook Pro prior to my new purchase in December 2021. There were no error messages until after this date with the new model. I have read of unticking < put hard drives to sleep when possible > This I had done with no change in the situation. Can anyone help please? Just annoying two/three times a day when I sleep or close down my MacBook. Thx Mike
