MacOS High Sierra Freeze

I recently upgraded MacOS High Sierra (Version 10.13.3) and since then my laptop freezes every few minutes with a rotating ball. The freeze stays until I manually shut down laptop with the on/off key. I only use laptop for office email and nothing else. I bought this laptop in September 2017. Please give me a suggestion on how to fix this problem.
