Remove "Year" Tag from bought Songs

Hi all been having issues with albums bought on iTunes. When I go into edit song information and remove the Year it works. However if I open the song information again for that song it automatically repopulates the year.

Is there a way to keep this from happening? It has been very annoying and I keep having to edit the songs that I have bought constantly. Is there a way to not have iTunes automatically correct the song changes I want to make?

Editing the year in iTunes When in iTunes, I can change the song name, artist, album title, and genre simply by clicking in the field and retyping what I want. Is there a way to do this with the year column? So far the only way I can change the year is by "right clicking" the track, going to "Song Info" and changing it under the details tab. It would be much more convenient to change the year like I can with most of the other columns.

Songs on same album have different release dates? I purchased a full album on iTunes but when looking at them in my library, half of the songs on them have a completely different release dates. I tried highlighting the album and editing the year in "song info" but that didn't do anything. It's annoying when I try to sort songs by year and it splits up the album. Has anyone else had this problem?

Year option now missing from iTunes I have over 22,000 tracks in my iTunes library - all of which are dated by year - so I can choose, when I want to, to play songs from a particular year. That option has now mysteriously disappeared and I cannot seem to find a way to get it back. Why does Apple seemingly and randomly decide to change options?
